The St. Patrick Pro-Life Family is dedicated to the principle that all life is precious and should be respected at all its stages. To support its work, including sponsoring and organizing the annual trip to the Washington, D.C. “March for Life” every January, the Pro-Life Family holds its Annual Communion Breakfast every fall.
Each Communion Breakfast, which typically is held in Canning Hall of St. Patrick School, is more than just a breakfast for supporters of the Right-to-Life for unborn babies, and a dignified natural end-of-life process for the ill and aged. Each breakfast also a guest speaker who address these issues. Information on the status of the Pro-Life cause is shared with all the attendes, who then have a chance to win a prize at one of the many items on the raffle table.
Many remember Msgr. Brennan from his days at St. Patrick’s. After his ordination in 1989, Msgr. Brennan served as associate pastor here until 1994 when he was appointed Secretary to the Bishop. He worked in that capacity under three bishops: the late Bishops John R. McGann and James T. McHugh, and the present Bishop William F. Murphy. In 1996, he was named an honorary prelate to His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, with the title Monsignor. He was named vicar general in 2002. Msgr. Brennan also serves as pastor of St. Mary of the Isle Church in Long Beach.
